My XI of Pepsi IPL 6

The season 6 of IPL has finally come to an end, not before gaining a lot of attention for both right and 'not so right' reasons.  Most cricket fans felt let down by few players and adminsters in the last 2 weeks, thanks to spot-fixing and betting allegations. Till we have the legends of the game like Dravid, Ponting, Sachin, Kallis, Hussey, Kumble and many others associated with the game, the fans will keep supporting the game of cricket as it was well demonstrated by the audience who turned up for playoffs and the finals.  We only hope this love of the audience is not taken for granted by administers running the game and keep this game clean from all the illegal activities.

However the On field performance of the players and the teams have been fantastic this season.  We did get to see some fantastic hitting, classical batting and some outstanding bowling spells leading to last over and last ball finishes. Bat has dominated for the major part of the tournament. However, some bowlers have  contributed heavily to the team's success. Sunrisers entry into playoffs, a prime example.

I am going to choose my IPL  XI of the season to reflect on the performances we have had this season. This team I select will not be restricted to 4 internationals but will be based on performance and current form than on nationality or reputation.

On Slow and low pitches: Amit Mishra would replace Dale Steyn. The players who came in close but did not make it into my XI   were Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and Pollard at No 3,4 and 5 respectively. Mitchell Johnson at No 11.

While you might agree on most names in the XI, I also expect you to disagree on few. After all we are  picking XI from a pool of 100+ players of whom at least 20-30  could get into any world T20 XI.

Some are glad that the season has come to end as it was going through a credibility crisis and others will miss all the fun, entertainment and jumpak jamapangzz.

To all who followed IPL for cricketing reasons, hope to interact with you during the course of Champions Trophy and Ashes on twitter, blogs and Facebook.

To all the Indians who loved IPL for the entertainment, we get back to B-town entertainment. Starting with, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani  this weekend.

Anyways, I hope to hear back from you about your thoughts on this edition of IPL and your dream team for the season.

Have fun!
